Being Grateful

I have to start this blog off with how grateful I am to have a beautiful, healthy boy. I was reminded tonight of how we over look the little things, like changing a diaper, or dealing with a tantrum, when there are so many people out there who have been trying for a baby and haven't been able to get pregnant, or who have a baby who isn't healthy. So even though I have been feeling frustrated with my little Drake these past couple of days I am reminded that I need to just take a deep breath and be grateful for every tantrum I get to deal with. And i'm sure you all are thinking that from that picture he is a little angel.... which he is..... most the time!
The first week of April Drake had been running a really high fever! I was really panicking actually because I had checked his temp and it was 104.5! Luckily I have my awesome sister who is a pediatrician who keeps me calm more than I would like to admit :) Anyways, poor little Drake was doped up on medicine for three days trying to keep his temp down, and then the third day he broke out in this awesome rash. Thanks to Trisha I was informed that he had Roseola. As you can see he was still happy, like always.
Where did my baby go??? He looks so old in this picture to me! He can stand on his own now for about 20-30 seconds, he still hasn't taken any steps yet.
When we were in Utah we went swimming and he loved it!! I knew he already loved water because he loves his bath time but taking him swimming really proved how much he does!
Drakes new thing is to take his shoes and socks off when we go any where in the car. This picture was from the other day when I got home from Target and he had taken both socks off and decided to put one of them in his mouth! It adds a bit more work for me but it makes me smile every time because he thinks he is so funny!!
We were lucky enough to have Brooke and Court come visit for a week!! The week they were here Tyler and I happened to be moving so the first two days of their visit they got to watch Drake for us! Brooke is such a cutie with him! She is just adorable! And the third day was when Drake started his fever but we still were able to visit the zoo with them.

Not much to say about this picture except I love the face he is pulling in this picture! He definitely got his facial expressions from Ty!
We found a RC track that we have been going to once a week. Drake loves it there! He really enjoys watching the cars drive by. All the people who work there really like Drake too! Needless to say, the days we spend at the track, Drake doesn't have a dull moment.
The other day I was making dinner and I thought that it would be a good idea to let Drake play in his drawer. Well it kept him entertained while I cooked and I thought wow this is awesome! Well the next day Drake made his way into the kitchen and opened his drawer and again I thought, man i'm so smart! Well then he started watching me open all these other drawers around him and decided that he was bored with his! So now he wants nothing to do with his and everything to do with the ones he can't be in! I think its time to baby proof!
The other day we went to a park and he loved the swing! We have been back a couple times since. Oh and I should mention that Drake can go up stairs now! He thinks he is so funny when he quietly crawls towards the stairs and when I come around to get him he just smiles and laughs at me!

Drake!

Thank you to my brother Rob, I finally have a blog going!
So our lives were forever changed on June 16, 2012. We welcomed Drake into this world at 11:28pm. He has been such a blessing in our lives! We love him so much!

Drake was 2 weeks old in this picture! We were lucky enough to come home after Drake was born and get his newborn pictures taken. Apparently they like to take them when they are this little or littler so that you can bend the babies however you want and do all those cute little newborn poses but it turned out Drake didn't like to be curled up at all, and just laid all sprawled out for his pictures! Haha he had attitude even at just 2 weeks old!
Drake was 4 months in this picture. We were once again able to come home in october a week or 2 before Halloween. At 4 months Drake was able to sit up on his own for about 3 seconds. Also at this time he was just beginning to roll over from back to tummy and vise-versa.
This is Drake at 6 months! By this time he could sit up on his own for as long as he wanted. And he could roll across the room to get to whatever he wanted. And he really started to show more attitude!

And this is Drake just a couple days ago! He is so much fun! He has so much attitude its not even funny! The other morning I woke up to him kicking me on my stomach, and might I add that he can kick a lot harder then you all probably think he can. When he gets frustrated or mad he growls! haha he is so funny I just love it! He has been picking up food and eating it for about a month now. His favorite foods are scrambled eggs and bread. He spit out bananas, strawberries, and mashed potatoes! I'm sure after time he will learn to like those! Every morning for breakfast we have eggs and toast and he loves it! Its a lot of fun to watch him learn all these new things. Tonight for dinner he was putting all his food in his cup holder in his high chair and then eating it out of the cup holder! It was super cute! And actually while I was writing this he broke my glasses, I guess thats what I get for not paying attention :) He gets into everything now! It is super fun to watch him explore things and discover all these cool new things. He really loves Tank and Diesel too. It is sweet to see the dogs with him. Every morning Tank comes up to him wagging his tail and Drake just smiles and laughs at him! Its very cute! About a week ago he started to pull himself up on things. It is funny because he curls his toes and stands on his toes, it looks like it hurts really badly! So the other day I bought him a pair of shoes and while he was wearing them he had his toes curled the whole time he had them on :) He is starting to get brave and letting go of things and standing on his own, he has also started to take a little step!! He is going to be walking soon! He is also a little stunt baby thanks to Tyler. He likes to be thrown and flipped!
And finally this is my little man taking a nap. He really doesn't like to sleep. I have such a great baby, he is so happy, he is fun, he hardly ever cries, but let me tell you, when it comes to sleeping he gives me a run for my money. He really just doesn't like to take naps and when he does they are 20-30 minutes, sometimes an hour when I get lucky. I love him so much though and wouldn't trade him for anything.
I can't wait to see what adventures await us!
Love the Williamson's :)
